Boys in Bands by Sophie Cates was a no budget music video shot in Cruz's old apartment. This was Maya Cruz's first music video she had directed at the beginning of 2019. The Boys in Bands addresses the stereotypes of men in music and the misogyny that women in music often face. It rotates between a group of boys performing Cate's song and a dreamy girl band doing the same. The girl band appears to be her fantasy while in reality these boys are what she is stuck with.
